Bride having a look

I photograph real life as it happens. One picture at a time, I tell wedding stories by documenting true moments and raw emotions. I do it with passion, happiness and perseverance. I’m discreet, but not shy and I feel very lucky that couples trust me to capture their wedding day.

Music, books, movies and magazines have always been interesting to me. Somewhere in between my natural curiosity for the human condition and all forms of storytelling, I got bitten by the travel bug. Right there, my passion for documentary and portrait photography was born. And with it, a long-time interest in the narrative possibilities of the photographic medium.

I was born in 1982, in Madrid, Spain, where I also completed my studies in photography and film/tv editing between 2000 and 2003. At the same time, I apprenticed with local photographers, and eventually, around 2004, I started freelancing. For the following 9 years, I worked in diverse fields. There was a fair amount of product photography at first, but I’d say that I primarily worked as a portrait and still photographer covering the occasional high-end event, while my personal interest remained focused on documentary projects, street photography and environmental portraits. Today, I’d consider myself a versatile professional with a varied background (click here to take a look at some of my other work).

Much earlier than that, when I was 3 years old, my parents put me on skis and it changed my life forever. Working on set was great, and I learnt lots, but it didn’t allow for enough time of backcountry skiing, and my passion for photographing real life had become pure days of commercial work, so in 2013, in the quest for happiness, I moved to British Columbia. To play in the mountains and to photograph at my own pace.

A few weeks before flying to Canada, I attended a wedding, surrounded by good old friends and with a little camera to document it all. I had a great time and I also discovered that wedding photography would allow me to create genuine memories through documentary series. After that, I decided that the next move in my career would be capturing true moments and raw emotions while still being able to get out and ski on a regular basis. I called it Bold Moments and I’m very happy that I get to hang out with good people having fun for a living.

Documentary wedding photography with a pinch of portraiture

That’s what I do. I want you to have fun and enjoy your day with your families and friends. I’m committed to capture that, and I’d also love to make some portraits from you lovers.

Documentary wedding photography is a bit different than a more classic approach to wedding imagery and it’s not for every couple. During the wedding day, I’ll make sure that we shoot any portraits and group photos that you wish but I’ll prioritize you and your people being yourselves over a tight timeline to produce staged pictures. Ultimately, I’ll aim to register the spirit of your celebration by photographing you two, but also by capturing emotional images from instants that you couldn’t see.

Wedding stories

My goal is to tell the story of your wedding day (or elopement) in the most complete way possible. Every single picture contributes to create the full story, and thereby, my coverage has no time restrictions. Quality and variety is what I’m looking for. The amount of pictures I deliver really depends in the nature of the celebration but most of my couples receive an average of at least 50 high resolution edited images per hour. Full collections are delivered in 6-8 weeks through an online protected gallery ready to download.

I’m located in Revelstoke, British Columbia, and most of the weddings that I photograph take place across British Columbia and Alberta. That being said, I love to travel and I’m a firm believer that the majority of the times there’s a way to make things work.

*Full day coverage starts at $2750 plus applicable travel fees.

*No travel fees for travel within 350 kms from Revelstoke –for example, weddings as far as Canmore, Kelowna or Nelson.

*Applicable travel fees: $0.50/km, direct cost of flights/ferries, hotel costs, and vehicle rentals.

*Optional services available include second photographer, photo albums and engagement/portrait sessions.
